The Maribor Hut is located at an elevation of 1,086 meters, above the Pohorje Funicular. Numerous trails lead to the summit, as the hut is a well-known destination. This is because the hut marks the starting point of the Slovenian Mountain Trail. The hut is surrounded by a forest, which obstructs most of the view.
