Velika Osojnica is a 756-meter-high peak that rises above Bled. Together with the surrounding hills of Mala Osojnica and Ojstrica, they are considered vantage points overlooking Lake Bled. Mala Osojnica is known primarily for offering the most beautiful view of the lake, while Ojstrica is known for its romantic bench at the summit; while Velika Osojnica, due to its height and seclusion, offers a sense of tranquility, making it a pleasant choice for anyone seeking a bit more peace and quiet and wanting to avoid the crowds of tourists that are common on the other two hills. Since Velika Osojnica is a bit further from the lake and covered in forest, the view is slightly less impressive. Nevertheless, it offers views of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, the Karawanks, the Ljubljana Basin, and, of course, the lake and Bled. Velika Osojnica offers a slightly shorter, easier route to the summit, making the magnificent view accessible even to less experienced hikers. The trail to Velika Osojnica bypasses Mala Osojnica, where we can stop and enjoy the magnificent views of Lake Bled.
