Psiloritis (Ida) (General)

Psiloritis, better known as Ida, is the highest peak on Crete. At the summit stands a small stone church that is still used for prayer today. It is precisely for this reason that a paved trail leads to the summit. Ida is also a well-known tourist destination, so you certainly won’t be alone on the trail. It’s recommended to set out early in the morning, as the scorching sun later in the day will make the climb more difficult. From the summit, you’ll be treated to exceptional views that are definitely worth the climb.
