From Tolmin, drive to Kobarid. In the town center, you’ll come to a major intersection; take the narrower road on the right. This road soon splits again; here, continue straight onto the narrower road, which begins to climb. Just before this road begins, you’ll see signs for the ossuary. Park in the designated parking lot in front of the ossuary.
Trail description:Look for the hiking trail on the left side of the parking lot. The gravel path leads into the forest. Immediately upon entering the forest, you’ll come to a fork in the trail; take the left path (signposted for Tonocov Castle). Follow the trail, which climbs gently and leads to another fork. Turn right, still heading toward Tonocov Castle. From here, a trail branching off to the left toward Veliki Rob will soon appear; join that trail. A longer climb follows, after which the trail levels out. A descent follows; during this descent, a trail branches off to the left toward Veliki rob, but you should continue down the slope all the way to the next fork, where you turn right (immediately after this fork, another trail will branch off to the left; but continue straight ahead) and continue climbing until you reach the “Žena 2+” signpost, which directs you to the next section of the trail. Just before the summit, there is a somewhat more challenging, rocky section, after which you’ll immediately reach the summit.
