From Tolmin, head toward Kobarid. Continue through town, past the tree-lined avenue, all the way to the roundabout, where you’ll take the third exit (toward Italy). We continue to the village of Robič, where we park in a small parking lot on the left side of the road, located just past the playground.
Trail description:We walk back along the sidewalk to the sign for Kred, where we cross the road. We walk just a few meters, and then a dirt road branches off on the left side of the road; we turn onto it. The dirt road turns into a narrow path and leads into the forest. The trail soon joins a gravel road; we follow it and continue to the right. We walk for a few minutes, then reach a junction where we continue along the middle road. Further on, the road will fork again; take the left fork. The terrain is flat. The road forks again near the swimming area. We continue to the right. The path will lead us to a meadow, from where we continue along a trail for quite some time. Then we pass through a small grove, after which we once again walk along a grassy path that begins to climb toward the village. Just before the village, the trail becomes a narrow concrete road. We climb through the village to the main road, where we turn right. We descend along the road to the left turn-off for Stol, Planja, and the Hlek bivouac. We climb up the road to a right turn into the forest (sign for Stol). After a few meters, we join the road and continue along it until we reach a trail junction on the right, where we turn. Follow the cart track until you reach another fork, this time to the left, where you turn again. A longer walk along a forest path follows; you’ll cross the road once and pass a water spigot and a bench. The trail climbs steeply the entire way; the first section runs entirely through the forest, while the second section crosses several small meadows. Pay close attention to the trail as you cross the last meadow, as there is a fork here where you must take the left path. Just before the summit, the trail turns into a small wooded area, through which you ascend to the mountain hut.
