From Ljubljana, head towards Gorenjska. Leave the motorway at the Bohinj/Pokljuka/Bled/Žirovnica/Vrba exit and take the first exit at the roundabout just after the exit and follow the road all the way to the settlement of Moste. Once you cross the bridge over the Završnica River, the road will branch off to the right. Take a sharp turn onto the road, and after a sharp bend, turn left again, this time to the left. Follow the dirt road for a longer distance, which leads directly in front of Valvasor's house. Park in the appropriate place on the roadside.
Trail description:Continue on foot along the road that leads past the house to a grassy track, which is also signposted to Stol. The path soon leads into the woods and starts to climb moderately. Soon we will have our first views of the valley. Continue along the well-marked path, which leads to a major fork. Both paths lead to Stol, in this case we choose the right one, the Zabreško path. The path leads us through a meadow, past a mountain, into the forest. In the warmer months, they have fenced horses here, which we will have to walk past. The path climbs moderately through the forest, then leads to larger grassy areas, which we cross and then head back into the forest. In the forest, the path starts to climb steeply and continues at this pace for a considerable time. After Betonsko bajto, the path will turn right and continue climbing through the forest for a few minutes, before leading out of the forest and onto grassy areas. Here we will have beautiful views. Continue the ascent all the way to Prešeren's hut on Stol. From the hut, continue towards the top of Stol. Find the path behind the hut. It initially descends slightly, but then begins to climb steeply again and leads us to the top in the next 10 minutes.
