From Šentjernej we head towards Pleterje, Šmarje. When you arrive in the village of Šmarje, you will see a church and a cemetery on your left and signs leading you to Pleterje and Javorovica (turn left). When you get to the marked crossroads, still follow the signs for Javorovica (right Carthusiast Church Pleterje, straight ahead Javorovica). Then drive for another 10 minutes and arrive in the village of Javorovica, where you park near the memorial to the fallen fighters.

From the car park, start walking uphill along the marked path. After a few minutes of walking, you will reach a small forest. When you come out of the forest, a clearing opens up in front of you. Follow the marked path to a fence. Cross the fence and after walking for ten minutes you will reach the forest. After crossing the fence again, there are two paths in front of us (the path from Njivce or Praga joins from the right), and we continue straight ahead. The walk through the forest takes about 20 minutes. When we come out of the forest, we see a clearing in front of us. There is a small climb through the clearing. When we reach a crossroads (on the right side we see a hunting observation post), we continue straight ahead and we can already see the top of Špilerjeva špica. A few minutes of walking and we have reached the top. You can go back the same way (marked trail). If you want to walk back along the circular route, continue walking for about two minutes. When you reach the crossroads in the forest (pictured), continue right down the hill (unmarked path). You will come to a clearing with a tree in the middle and a hunting observation post on your right. Continue walking past the hunting observation post and you will come to a path. Keep to the right and after about ten minutes you will come to the same path that you took to the top of Spiller's Spit. Continue back along the same path.
