Vrtača is a 2,181-meter-high peak that rises on the border between Slovenia and Austria, near the highest peak of the Karawanks—Stol. It is a peak with many challenging and mountaineering-style ascents. There are only a few routes that make it easier to reach the summit, and even those are unmarked. The peak is known for its distinctive large wedge-shaped rock formation. At the summit, you’ll also find a summit logbook. From the summit, a beautiful view opens up toward the Julian Alps, the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, and the Karawanks.
