Drive to Tolmin and at the main traffic lights turn in the direction of Zatolmin (right if you are coming from Ljubljana, or left if you are coming from Nova Gorica). In Zatolmin, keep on the main road, but only until the fork where the road to the right leads you towards Tolminski korite. Before this fork, you will see a restaurant on the left side of the road and a car park on the right. Park here.

Continue on foot into the village, uphill. When the road splits higher up the slope, keep left towards Mrzle Top. Soon after, the road will split again (at the yellow house) - this time turn right, up a steep incline and follow the signs to the left, which will direct you to the forest path. There is a long steep climb. When the terrain has levelled out a little, you will see new direction signs and a crossroads. Here, keep to the right path, towards the spring at Špani. You will then come to another marked fork, where you keep right and descend a short flight of steps, then down to a viewpoint. From here it is just a few metres downhill to the Spring at Špani. Then it's back to the starting point. Return to the first crossroads (which will be just after the short wooden steps) and turn right. There is a moderate ascent, then a steeper climb until you reach the fork again, where you keep right again. The path will lay down and you will continue for some time. When you reach the next crossroads, turn right downhill to start the descent (left is Vodel). The descent along the forest path will take you all the way to Selce, where you will join the road for a few metres. Soon there will be a path to the right, which you will rejoin and continue descending until you rejoin the road. This time you will walk along the road for a few hundred metres before a track branches off to the left and you rejoin the road. You will then descend to St Peter's Church. From here you will walk downhill along the road to the starting point.
