From Postojna, take the highway toward the coast. Drive to the exit for Divača and Lipica, where you’ll leave the highway. At the roundabout just past the exit, take the third exit and continue to a larger intersection, where you’ll turn left, enter the roundabout, and take the third exit again. From there, continue to the village of Lokev, where you can park in the parking lot next to the church.

Walk along the gravel road that continues from the church. You’ll soon come to a fork in the road; take the right path, which is also indicated by a signpost for Kokoš. A longer walk across flat terrain follows, all the way to the gate leading to the pasture, where you’ll see a signpost for Kokoš (1h). Shortly after that, the road will turn left and then split into two paths. Stay on the right-hand path, which gradually narrows and eventually becomes a narrow trail that begins to climb more steeply. At the first fork, take the left path; further along, you’ll encounter several more forks—the wider, better-maintained path is the marked trail; it’s best to stick to this one, though the others will also lead you to the same destination. After a long walk, you’ll reach a gravel road; join it and climb up to the Kokoša mountain hut. From there, continue along the gravel road, which leads into the forest and begins to descend. Follow the road all the way to a barely visible fork to the left (at a bend where the road turns right), where you should turn. Soon the trail will become more visible; follow it all the way to a crossroads. Here, take the right path and walk a few steps forward to a red marker, where you’ll turn left and walk to the summit.
