OPTION 1: Coming from Nova Gorica to Tolmin, turn left at the only semaphored junction towards Zatolmin (from Most na Soči or Ljubljana, turn right at this junction). Soon the road forks (at the fork you will see a park and a church), where you turn left (blue signpost for camping). Continue straight along the road, through the whole of Tolmin, and through the villages of Dolje, Gabrje, Volarje, Selišče, to the village of Kamno. Here, just before the end of the village, just after passing the bar on the right, turn right (signpost for Vrsno and Krn). Then follow this winding and increasingly narrow road through the two villages and a little further on to the car park just below the Kuhinja mountain. Park here. OPTION 2: Drive into Tolmin and continue along the road towards Kobarid. When you reach the fork with the signpost for Kamna, turn right. Cross the bridge and follow the narrower and narrower ascending road towards the villages of Vrsno and Krn. Once you have passed the two villages, continue driving for a few hundred metres until you reach the car park under the Kuhinja mountain. Park here.
Trail description:From the car park, continue along the road to the right, or follow the signs for Planina Zaslap. Keep right at the next fork. The road, concrete in some places and gravel in others, climbs quite steeply and after about half an hour's walk leads to the first cattle barrier. From here on, the road turns into a worse track and continues past meadows to the smaller Leskovca mountain. Continue past the mountain, over the fence and immediately after the hut, climb slightly left to a marked fork. At the fork, where there is also a small bench, turn left, which is also indicated by a signpost (the path also leads towards Krno). But be careful, because after about fifty metres you will have to turn right, towards Slapnik / Zaslap. From here on, the path winds its way across the meadows, steepening all the time. When we reach a small wood, the path will split again. Turn right and continue along the winding path towards Mount Sleme, which is a 30-minute walk away. Just before the mountain, the path turns downhill. Go downhill and you will reach your destination.
