From Tolmin, we head toward Nova Gorica. Past the village of Kanal ob Soči, there is a turnoff to the left toward Kanalski Vrh, Morsko, and the reservoir, where we turn off. A long climb along a winding road follows. When the road levels out, drive past Kanalski Vrh to Bate. Here, turn right and continue toward Grgarske Ravne. Turn right again here and drive to Dragovica. Here, we park by the spring on the left side of the road, where there is also a bulletin board.
Trail description:We continue on foot along the road, and after walking just a few dozen meters, we turn left onto an uphill road. The road leads past houses to a meadow, where it turns into a dirt track. At first, follow the signs for Jelenk and stay on the path that leads into the forest. The hike continues along an easy trail. Along the way, you’ll come to a barely visible fork where you’ll take a sharp left. Shortly after the turn, you’ll cross a small meadow, and then the trail becomes steep. We’ll climb this path to the summit of Rebra. We’ll find the rest of the trail across the meadow. The trail is very hard to see. We’ll descend across the meadow to the forest, where we’ll look for the trail along the right edge (here the trail becomes more visible). A longer descent follows, alternating between the forest and meadows, all the way to the paved road, where we join it and turn left. We walk along the road for a few minutes back to the starting village, all the way to the parking lot.
