Coming from Nova Gorica, head toward Most na Soči. After passing through the village of Modrejci and crossing the Soča River, turn left toward Tolmin. After passing through the village of Praprotno, you’ll come to a fork in the road (left to Tolmin, right to Poljubinj), where you’ll keep to the right and continue into the village until you reach the Valter - Siber farmhouse, where we turn left onto an ascending road, following it all the way up to a junction of several paths, which we’ll recognize by the recycling station on our left. Just before a distinctive, narrow, tall house with a garage door, turn right toward the Beri Waterfall, as indicated by the signpost. Continue to the well-maintained parking lot, where you’ll park.
Trail description:We walk back along the road we came from. At the fork by the sign, we turn uphill and climb to the junction where a narrower road branches off to the right (near the trash cans), where we turn. A short, steep climb follows, after which the road turns into a dirt track that soon forks. We turn right into the forest. The trail becomes a narrow path that we’ll follow as we climb to the summit of Tolmin Triglav. There’s only one section where the trail is somewhat more dangerous, as it consists of loose gravel. Almost at the summit, the trail will join another path and soon split again—we’ll be able to choose between a steeper, more direct route or a slightly gentler, longer one. We chose the steeper one, which took us to the summit of Tolmin Triglav in just a few minutes. We head back along the path we came from, but only as far as the point where our path joined another trail during the ascent. Here, we do not go back the way we came, but instead take the path to the right. A long, zigzagging descent follows. Just before the trail emerges from the forest, it forks. An arrow marker directs us to the left, where we turn. We then emerge from the forest and join a gravel road. We turn right and head toward the church, which we pass on the right, and continue along the path into the village and back to where we parked.
