Coming from Nova Gorica, drive into Štanjel. Drive past the section with the city walls, then turn left onto a narrower street and continue until you see a large, well-maintained parking lot on your right, where you can park. There is a fee for parking.

Walk back in the direction you came from. Cross the main road and head toward the old town, which is surrounded by walls. Enter through the stone archway and continue down the narrow alley toward the Ferrari Garden. Do not turn into the garden; instead, continue walking along the gravel path, which begins to descend. At the fork, keep going straight; from here on, the path begins to climb again. The climb is short, and you’ll soon reach the top.
