If you take the motorway leading to Maribor, turn out at the exit for Mozirje. The road will then lead you towards the Logar Valley, which is well signposted. When the road leads to the village of Ljubno ob Savinji, pay attention to the signpost for Smrekovec, as you will have to turn right here. Continue driving through the centre of the village, and shortly afterwards turn left, again warned by the signpost for Smrekovec. Continue to the village of Ljubenske Rastke, where you turn right. Continue along the road, which becomes macadam after a few minutes. Keep following the signs for Smrekovec, so you shouldn't get lost. On the side of the road, we will see a small parking lot on our right, where we park. You will recognise it by the sign warning of the possibility of fires and the wooden welcome sign.
Trail description:From here we continue on foot. Cross the road and follow the forest track. It is an unmarked path, but it is well trodden. It rises a little at first, but then continues quite gently. Walk along it for about 20 minutes and you will be standing on the meadow in front of the Dom na Smrekovcu. Cross the meadow, and just after the lodge, turn left onto the ascending, well-marked path. At the crossroads, turn left (signpost for Kočo na Loki). Follow the trail signs, which are very well signposted, so there is no danger of getting lost. On the way, we will first pass a small hunting lodge, then cross a small stream where we can fill our water bottles, as the water from the stream is excellent. There is some walking on fairly gentle terrain, alternating between grassy and wooded slopes. After a longer walk on fairly flat terrain, we will arrive at the foot of the peak. There is one last climb through the forest and we will arrive at our destination, which is unfortunately not marked.
