From Tolmin, head toward Nova Gorica. After passing Kanal ob Soči, turn left toward Morsko and continue along the ascending road, past Kanalski Vrh. A short distance past the village, we’ll come to a fork in the road, where we’ll turn right and continue on to Grgarske Raven. We’ll park in a suitable spot in front of the Herbal Center.

We continue on foot into the village, toward Sveti Lovrenc, where a signpost also directs us. In the village, we climb a path that turns into a cart track at the top of the village. We continue along the cart track into the forest. Soon the path forks; we take the left, gently ascending cart track, which eventually becomes a narrow path. The path continues through the forest for a while, then crosses a small clearing. Beyond the clearing, the trail leads back into the forest, where it soon splits at a very small meadow. We turn left and follow the trail up to the summit of Sveti Lovrenc. From the summit, we return along the path we came from, but only as far as a very small meadow, where this time we turn left (Zabrdo – 1 hr 30 min). The path, which starts out as a forest trail, descends slightly and turns into a cart track. The trail then continues across mostly flat terrain until the cart track joins a gravel road. Here, turn right (the village of Sveto is just a few meters to the left) and continue along the road, which is flat at first but then begins to climb. After a long climb, it turns into a narrow path leading to a small meadow, where you’ll find the trail continuing to the left. You’ll walk through the woods for a short while longer, then reach grassy areas, which you’ll cross. The terrain here is mostly flat. After a longer walk, the trail brings us back to a gravel road, which we join and turn right onto. Following the road, we soon reach the M. Kalan monument. From here, continue along the road (Zabrdo—40 min) until a cart track branches off to the right; join this track. A moderate, longer descent follows along this cart track, which narrows into a narrow path halfway through. This path leads us to the main road. Turn right and walk along the road for a few minutes (be very careful here, as this is a major road; walking on the shoulder) until a forest trail branches off to the right, where a sign for Sv. Lovrenc also directs you. Shortly after the turn, the trail forks again; take the left fork. Continue along the trail, which soon joins the initial section of the route. From here, simply return to the starting point.
