From Bovec, we drive toward Kobarid. After the bridge, next to Hotel Boka, there is a parking lot where we park.

From the parking lot, head toward Hotel Boka, which is also indicated by the sign for Boka Waterfall and Bovec. Walk through a small wooded area until you reach the road. Cross the road and continue across the bridge. Once across the bridge, turn left onto a forest trail and you’ll soon reach a fork in the trail. Here, turn right and continue along the trail through the forest. The trail is flat at first, but later begins to descend toward the road. When you reach the road, follow a short stretch of the trail along the road to the left, toward the Žvikar Inn. Just before the inn, join the gravel road that turns left. The trail leads to some meadows; at the edge of these, look for another small path that turns left and leads past a wooden garage into a small wooded area. We make our way through the grove and then arrive at the campground. We simply cross the campground and continue along the gravel path past a few houses into the grove. A gentle path leads us across a stream to a meadow, which we cross to join the road. Take the path on the right, which leads past a hydroelectric power plant. From here on, the path becomes a gravel road again and begins to climb moderately. It leads into the woods and becomes increasingly narrow. In the woods, the climb becomes steeper. After a short walk, we’ll reach the road again, which we’ll follow uphill to the continuation of the forest trail, which turns left and continues to climb. The trail leads us to a concrete road, and from here on, it becomes flat again. Continue left toward the artificial lake. Go around the lake on the left, and immediately after it, at the fork, take the right path, which quickly descends to a small parking lot. From here, continue across the bridge and climb up to the Virje Waterfall parking lot. Here, turn right and descend the slope to the waterfall.
