Coming from Tolmin, head toward Kobarid. In Kobarid, just a few dozen meters past the Petrol gas station, turn right toward Vrsno / Bovec / Drežnica. Continue driving to the first intersection, where you turn left and then immediately left again (to stay on Gregorčičeva Street). Continue to Napoleon’s Bridge, cross it, and then turn left immediately afterward. The road then becomes slightly more winding at first, but eventually straightens out and leads through Drežnica toward the Drežnica Plains. In the village, at the intersection, turn right toward Krasji Vrh and then right again. Continue driving until you reach a large water trough, which you’ll see right next to the road. Next to it is a large parking lot where you can park.
Trail description:From the parking lot, continue along the gravel road and, past the cabin on the left side of the road, turn onto a narrow forest path on the right. The path ascends, after which you’ll rejoin the road. Walk along the road for a few minutes (until the end of the right-hand curve), then rejoin the narrow path on the left side of the road, which you’ll see just past the curve. The trail ascends through the woods, crossing the gravel road several times along the way. When the trail rejoins the aforementioned road at a bend and you find yourself at a junction of several trails, take the narrow trail that runs parallel to where you’re standing and follow it back into the forest. Follow the trail to a fork, where you’ll take the left path, which is also indicated by a signpost for Mount Zaprikraj. A longer walk through the forest follows, after which you’ll reach another fork. Here, we keep to the right; the signpost also directs us that way. Following the trail, we soon emerge from the forest onto meadows. We pass a pasture fence and continue along the trail across the meadow, which descends slightly to a gravel road. From here, look for a narrow path that’s somewhat hard to spot; it leads back into the forest and soon takes you to the mountain pasture.
