If you’re driving from Most na Soči toward Tolmin, follow the main road all the way to the fork, where the left road leads to Tolmin and the right road leads to Poljubin. Here, turn toward Tolmin, and after just a few hundred meters, turn right, following the sign for Žabče. Continue along the road, keeping to the right at the fork toward Zadlaz. This is followed by a drive along a narrow road through a compact village. Once you’ve passed through the village, there are a few hundred more meters of driving along a flat road flanked by pastures on both sides. When the pastures end and the forest gradually begins, you’ll notice a weekend cottage with a large garden on the right—turn right here and park along the road.
Trail description:We continue on foot, first past the gate along a forest trail, which after a few minutes’ walk leads us to a fork—on the right, a signpost points toward the Razor Mountain Hut, where we turn. A longer walk follows along a narrow forest trail that climbs gradually, winding frequently along the way. We stay on this path all the way to a fork, where one path turns left, but we take the right path (which actually goes straight ahead). Here, the trail begins to climb somewhat more steeply, winding frequently along the way. After walking for a while, the trail will lead you to a fork. The straight path leads to a bench, which you’ll reach in about 2 minutes (this can be your intermediate destination—you’ll be treated to beautiful views here). We’ll take the right path, which immediately begins to climb more steeply. Eventually, the trail levels off, then continues with alternating gentle ascents, descents, and flat sections. The trail takes us past a hut and a bench at the lookout point and soon reaches the Lom mountain pasture. At the Lom Mountain Pasture, just past the first hut on the right, turn right onto an ascending cart track that quickly leads to the edge of a meadow. Next comes an ascent across the meadow to its summit, which you’ll recognize by a large rocky cairn. Just a short distance past the cairn, turn slightly right into the forest. The trail runs through the forest for only a short time before leading back onto the meadow, which immediately begins to climb steeply. After a lengthy ascent, the trail levels off somewhat and leads back into the woods. We follow the trail through the woods and then back onto a grassy ridge, along which our route will continue. Just before the summit, the level path will begin to climb again and lead us to the top in a few minutes.
