From Tolmin, drive to the village of Zatolmin, and just before the Zatolmin restaurant, turn left. Continue along the road that passes through the village of Dolje toward Gabrje. Park along the road just past the Gabrje sign.
Trail description:We continue on foot into the village, but only as far as the first turnoff to the right, where we turn onto an uphill road that leads past a few houses, then levels out and becomes a dirt road. The dirt road passes a military chapel and a house with an old mill. Immediately past the mill, it crosses a small bridge and turns into a narrow grassy path. The trail leads us to another house, and right next to it are some steps that we climb. Behind the house, we continue along the trail, which climbs moderately into the forest. In the forest, we come to a fork, where we turn right onto a steeply ascending path. After walking along this path for some time, we’ll reach a gravel road. We join the road and turn left. We then follow the gravel road, which takes us all the way to Podoreh, located outside the forest. We turn onto the left path, which leads back into the forest through a gate in the pasture. We continue along the cart track all the way to a marked fork. The path straight ahead leads to Mrzli vrh, but we’ll take the right-hand path, which takes us up to the pastures in just a few steps. We pass through the first gate, then climb a few dozen meters across the meadow until we see another gate on the right, which we also pass through. From here, a wonderful view of the valley opens up before us. We continue the ascent along a narrow trail and pass through one final gate. The trail then leads us into the forest and becomes somewhat steeper. We continue at this pace for quite some time, after which the trail leads out of the forest and back onto a meadow, from which we just have to climb to the summit.
