From Tolmin, head toward Bovec. Shortly after crossing the Soča River, you’ll reach a roundabout; take the second exit. Continue through the village of Volče and look for the sign for the Solarij Pass, which directs you to the right onto an ascending road. Follow this road for quite some time until you reach Solarij, where the road forks. Continue along the paved road on the left, which will soon lead you to a fork. Do not turn right toward Italy, but rather left toward Kambreško. Continue along the road for another minute or so, keeping an eye out for the first possible left turn, which you’ll recognize by the directional signs. Turn here and park in the parking lot.

We find the hiking trail on the left side of the parking lot, where a sign pointing toward Ježa also directs us. At first, we walk along a gravel road, and then a sign directs us to turn right into the forest, where we turn. A steep climb through the forest follows, which levels off just a few minutes before the summit of Ježa. From the summit of Ježa, continue along the trail toward the mountain hut. From here, the trail begins a steep descent; along the way, you’ll come to only one fork, where you should continue straight toward the hut. We follow the trail until it leads us out of the forest onto an asphalt road, which we must cross to reach the lodge.
