From Tolmin, drive to Most na Soči. Here, turn left and follow the road to Bača pri Modreju, where you turn left again toward the village of Podbrdo and follow the road for about 22 km all the way to that village. In the village, shortly after the train station on your right, turn left (toward the apartment complex) toward Bača. Follow the narrow, steeply ascending road for quite some time until a narrow gravel road branches off to the left. At the first fork, continue straight ahead, and turn left at the second fork. The gravel road begins to descend immediately; continue along it until it levels off again. Here, you’ll find a place to park along the road.
Trail description:We park and continue on foot along a gravel road that takes us across the Kocenpoh stream to a gate on the road. We go through the gate, which leads us to the Kocenpohar farm. We continue along a gentle gravel road that runs past two houses on the left, and shortly after them, we pass through another gate and leave the farm behind. We then follow the road uphill to a secluded house, which we bypass on the right and turn onto a forest trail. The trail immediately begins to climb more steeply and soon leads us to a larger, unmarked fork. Turn right and continue along the path for just a few dozen meters, until a narrow, steeply ascending trail branches off to the left; turn onto it. The trail, which climbs steeply at first, soon levels off somewhat, and we continue at a moderate incline to the saddle. At the saddle, turn left and head straight along the trail that leads back into the forest. The trail is flat at first but later begins to climb moderately. Further on, the trail becomes increasingly difficult to see. When we reach the ruins of the houses, we find the trail between the two houses and head directly toward the summit, which is only a few minutes’ walk away.
