From Tolmin, we drive toward the village of Poljubin and on toward Ljubinj. In the village of Ljubinj, just past the Church of St. Michael, turn left onto a narrow, winding, uphill road that will take you past the Stador Mountain Hut and the Lom Mountain Pasture. We continue driving along the main road all the way to the next mountain pasture, which will be our starting point—Planina Kuk. We park right in front of the pasture in the parking lot located along the road.

We continue on foot through the fence, next to which stands a sign for the Razor and Podkuk mountain pastures. Soon, the Kuk mountain pasture will open up before us, offering a magnificent view of our summit. We continue along the road, which begins to climb past the huts. The road will fork at a sharp bend—here, we keep to the left, staying on the main road. This road soon levels out and turns into the forest. We then continue through the forest for quite some time on level ground, all the way to a signpost that directs us to the right into the forest—toward the hut on Planina Razor. When we reach the hut, we’ll find the path continuing to the right behind it. Here, the trail turns into a small grove, and soon we’ll emerge from it onto a larger meadow. At the next fork, located in the middle of the meadow, we turn right and continue along the trail to the next fork in yet another small grove. In the grove, a trail branches off to the left toward Globoko, where we turn. The trail soon exits the grove and begins to wind its way upward across grassy terrain. Throughout the ascent, you’ll be treated to wonderful views of the mountain hut and the nearby high mountains. Just below the summit of Globoko stands a large military bunker; go around it on the right, and you’ll soon find yourself at the Globoko saddle. From here, we turn left, and the trail initially climbs steeply to Vrh Planje.
