From Bovec, drive in the direction Kal - Koritnica. Then you arrive in the village of Soča, where the road turns off to Lepena. Follow the road until you reach the car park at the home of Dr Klement Jug in Lepena.
Trail description:From the house in Lepena, continue left uphill towards Krnske jezera. The well-marked path climbs through the forest and crosses the cable car several times. After a little more than an hour, you reach the top of the hill and out of the forest. Walk along the path at the edge of the forest. Soon we reach the place where they measure the height of the snow. The path then starts to descend and from a distance you can see the turnoff for Velika Baba (left). If you had continued straight on you would have reached the house at Krn Lakes. Continue following the signs to the left into the forest and walk for 10 minutes through the forest, then you will arrive at a clearing where you can already see the top of Velika Baba. The path then climbs gently up the slope of Velika Baba. Walk along a narrow path and also cross a scree slope. There is then a short climb which leads us under the wall of Velika Baba. The path then climbs and leads us to a place where we have to be careful, as the marker for Velika Baba is on the ground (left) and can be missed (picture). Continue left in the direction of Velika Baba. The path starts to climb up the rocky slope of Velika Baba again. After about 30 minutes, you will reach the top.
