From Plužin we drive to Stabno by Lake Piva. The route is marked with mountain signs. In the village of Stabna, drive past a small church and park near the signpost. You can also drive past and park higher up (photo), but the road is in very poor condition and very narrow (no problem for off-road vehicles). There we pay the entrance fee to the Nature Park of Beer to Mr Nedjo, 1€ per person.
Trail description:Signs direct you past the barrier along a wide and then narrower track, which later turns into a lane. It climbs steeply and leads to a grassy slope. There the steepness eases and we follow a grassy track to the left. A steep ascent follows and soon you reach the Little Stabanski Lake (1194 m). The trail bypasses the lake on the left and re-enters the forest, where after a short steep climb it descends a grassy slope to our destination.
