From Postojna we head towards Pivka. We pass the villages of Rakitnik, Matenja vas, Reška cesta and Selce. When you reach the village of Petelinje, turn left at the sign for Petelinje jezero. Pass through the village and then arrive at Sloveska vas. There you will see a large car park on the left, where you park.
Trail description:At the car park at the starting point, you will see signs for Sveta Trojica and Petelinje jezero. The sign directs you through Slovesnka vas to the Pivka Intermittent Lakes Ecomuseum, where the signs point to the right. The road climbs gently at first and then gradually descends. Soon you arrive at a small crossroads where signs for Sveta Trojica and Petelinje jezero direct you to the left by a fence where animals are grazing. Continue on and soon you will reach a crossroads where the marked footpath to Sveta Trojica branches off to the right and the road to Petelinj Lake continues straight ahead. After about five minutes you will reach the lake.
