Drive to Tolmin and, at the main traffic-light-controlled intersection, turn toward Zatolmin (right if you’re coming from Ljubljana, or left if you’re coming from Nova Gorica). In Zatolmin, stay on the main road leading toward the Tolmin Gorges and Čadrg. Follow this road straight ahead on the flat stretch at first, and then the road begins to wind its way uphill. Follow it all the way to the St. Peter chapel, where you’ll also see a sign for Triglav National Park. There’s a small parking lot by the road here, where you can park.

We continue on foot along the cart track that runs right next to the left side of the little church. Shortly after the church, the cart track turns into a narrow forest path, which we follow uphill all the way to the paved road. A few hundred meters later, we continue along this road until we notice a narrow turnoff on the right. Here, we turn onto the forest trail again. The trail will lead us to Selce, where there is also a chapel. We continue along the narrow road, which, after a long walk, leads us out of the forest onto grassy areas where there are a few mountain huts. We continue along the road back into the forest, where we soon reach a fork and turn left. The road will soon lead out of the forest again and turn into a grassy cart track. The slope levels off from here on, and we make our way across the meadows over mostly flat terrain to our destination, which we’ll recognize by the wildlife observation deck and wooden benches.
