If you take the motorway from Ljubljana, take the exit for Kamnik. Just after the exit, turn right and drive straight along the road for a long time until you reach the village of Podgorje, where at the roundabout take the second exit towards Kamnik - centre. From here, continue straight on for a longer distance to Kamnik, where you turn left at the crossroads and right immediately afterwards. Cross a small bridge, then turn left again. Continue along the road to the village of Soteska, where you will come to another fork and turn left. From here on, it's just a climb up a winding road and you'll reach the Črnivec guesthouse on the Črnivec Pass. There is a larger parking area on the left side of the road, where we park.
Trail description:About 10 metres before the start of the car park, you will see hiking signs directing you to a number of hiking trails. We choose the route to the top of Kašna planina, so turn left in front of the signs and cross a short narrower meadow, which leads us to a dirt road in a minute. Just cross the road and follow the narrow grassy path up through the grove. After a slightly longer climb, we will have to cross the macadam road again, and from here on, the lower trees and conifers will be replaced by forest, through which we will quickly climb up to grassy areas from which we will have a nice view towards the Črnivec Pass and the nearby hills. Cross the meadow on the path and you will find yourself in front of the macadam road again. Cross it again and continue along the track leading into the forest. Shortly after entering the forest, cross the dirt road once more, and then follow the track ascending moderately for a longer distance. The path will lead you out of the forest, through a cattle barrier and up a grassy slope to a wider path strewn with stones, which you will follow up to the next crossroads. A signpost points to the right to a slightly steeper ascending path, which will take you to the top in a few minutes.
