From Ljubljana, take the motorway to Nova Gorica. Leave the motorway at the Ajdovščina exit, then turn left at the traffic lights and follow the road to a major fork. Turn right here in the direction Ajdovščina - Airport. Continue to the roundabout, take the 3rd exit and follow the road for a longer distance through Lokavec towards Predmeja. The road becomes narrower and macadam, and we follow it all the way to a large meadow where the Mala Lazna home is situated. At the junction of a number of dirt roads we will see a parking place, where we park.
Trail description:From the direction from which you came, walk right at the junction of the roads, towards the Big Ice Cave. The road leads into the forest and soon you will find yourself in front of a fork. Keep to the main road on the left, and keep to the left at the next fork, which is only a few minutes from the first. Keep on the dirt road for a few minutes, when a track will branch off to the right and you will turn right onto it. This is also where the sign for Golake will direct you. This will be the first sign pointing towards Golake, and there are very few signs in the first part of the route. Continue along the track, which is initially laid, but soon begins to climb moderately to a macadam road, along which there is also a car park, a teaching board and a police warning. Just cross the road and then join the forest path, which will lead you to Iztok's hut in 5 minutes. From here on, the trail becomes very well signposted, as it is also part of the Slovenian mountain trail. Before the hut, turn right and continue along the path, which starts to climb steeply towards Malemu Golak. At the end of a longer, steeper climb, we will find ourselves in front of a fork. Turn left from where you are only 10 minutes away from the summit.
