From Ljubljana, take the motorway towards Gorenjska and leave the motorway at the Cerklje na Gorenjskem / Kamnik / Komenda / Smlednik exit. Immediately you reach a fork, turn right and follow the main road to Kamnik. In the town you will come to a large T-junction where you turn left and follow the road over the Kamniško Bistrica, just after the river turn left again and follow the road for a longer distance towards the Črnivec Pass. From here, continue following the main road past Kališ and Podvolovjek to the village of Luče, where you turn left at the fork for Podvolovjek. Follow the road along the Savinja for a longer distance, passing through Robanov kot and Solčava, and after these two places you will come to a fork, which you will recognise by a small wooden house between the two roads. Turn left towards the Logar valley and follow the road to the hut under the Rinka waterfall, where you park.

On foot, continue up the wooden stairs opposite the hut, where you will also be directed by a signpost. As soon as you climb the stairs, you will find yourself in front of a number of signposts. Here we follow the Pastoral Route to the Frischauf House, so take the right-hand route. The path immediately begins a moderate, winding ascent. There are many fallen trees in the forest, and a few trunks are even fallen across the path, which makes it a bit difficult. After walking for a while, the path will flatten out for a few minutes, and we will cross a small unforested, screey part twice in between. After the second scree patch, the path will first descend a little, then for a short time it will lead through the woods, and then we will come to a larger scree patch, over which there is also a stile. Cross the scree and in a few minutes join the second path leading to the house at Okrešlju. Soon you will reach the source of the Savinja, from where you continue left towards the cottage. There is only a short steep climb and a few minutes of flat ground before you reach your destination.
