From Tolmin, head towards Idrija. At the main crossroads, in the middle of Idrija, continue straight on towards Vojsko, until the next un-semaporised crossroads, where you turn left towards Hlevisi and Vojsko. Continue past the museum on the left to the next unsignposted crossroads, again keeping left. The road will lead you to another fork, where the signpost for the Cottage on Hleviška planina will direct you to the left again. Continue along the narrow road leading into the forest. A macadam road will branch off to the right, and you will see a parking area next to it.

Continue on foot along the macadam road, go around the green barrier and continue along the road for a few minutes. When you see a small wooden log by the side of the road, turn left onto a wide forest path, which immediately starts to climb steeply. Immediately after the climb, there are two forks, keep to the right. The path then becomes flat and leads to a junction of several paths at Hleviše. Turn left and follow the signs carefully guiding you along the moderately ascending path until you reach a macadam road, which you join. A few minutes' walk along the sloping road and you will reach the hut, which lies just below Hleviško planina. Go around the hut and climb up the narrow path, which climbs steeply, to Hleviška planina in about 10 minutes.
