From Ljubljana, take the motorway towards Gorenjska and leave the motorway at the exit for Vodice. Immediately afterwards, turn right and continue to the fork, where you turn right towards Mengeš and Bukovica. Continue along the main road until you reach Kosez, where you turn right just before the signpost indicating the end of Kosez. You will also recognise the fork by the wooden bus stop and several signposts. Just after the turn, a dirt road will branch off to the left and you will turn left onto it. Continue along this road for a few dozen metres and then park in the car park by the bajerje.
Trail description:On foot, follow the forest path on the right side of the lake. Initially, walk right next to the lake, but after a few minutes of walking, a signpost with an arrow on a tree points you sharp right (but be careful here, the arrow is pointing straight ahead, and we are turning right). The path climbs slightly and leads to a fork, where you turn left and follow a sloping path to the next fork, marked by a number of signposts. Take the middle path, which is also signposted. From here on, the path climbs steeply and then descends, leading to a new fork. Turn right and immediately afterwards left onto the ascending path again. At the end of the climb, the terrain flattens out again and the forest thins out. Continue along the path, where soon the signpost for Mengeška Cottage directs you to the left to a meadow. At the small goat house, turn left again and climb up to the hut in a few minutes.
