From Ljubljana, drive towards Tolmin, along the old road past Škofja Loka. After about 1 hour of driving, you will arrive in the village of Sovodenj. Along the way, you will soon see a small Mercator shop on your left, and a larger car park just a little further on, where you can park.

From the car park, head towards Kladje, turning left onto the main road. There is no pavement along the road, so you will have to walk along the road for a short distance. Shortly after the start of the walk, you will leave Sovodenj, passing a few houses on your left. After the houses we will see another large house on the bend on our right, and a narrower road branching off the main road to the right of it. Cross the main road and continue along this narrower road, which is also signposted. From here on, continue along the road for a longer time, crossing a few forks in the process. You will also pass a small hamlet with a few houses, and shortly afterwards the road will start to climb slightly, and a forest path will branch off to the left, which also leads to Ermanovec. We do not turn off here, but continue on for about 100 metres, to a sharp bend, where the forest track branches off to the left again, and we turn off onto it. Then we walk through the woods, which for a long time passes right next to a small stream, and then at some point crosses it and leads us in two bends to the plain. We continue on level ground for a short time, and then the path leads us out of the forest, climbs over a meadow and leads us to an asphalt road that passes through a small hamlet. On the road, turn right and follow the ascending road to the hut at Ermanovec.
