From Ljubljana, head towards Škofja Loka, then on to Cerkno and Železniki. You will pass Bukovica, Dolenja vas, Železniki and Zale Log. Shortly after Zali Log, the road splits and we continue left towards Cerkno, Davča and Tolmin. Follow the road all the way to Petrovo Brdo, where the ascending path will lead to a crossroads. Right next to it is the Petrovo Brdo mountain lodge, and opposite it is a small car park where we park.

Continue on foot along the asphalt road leading to Podporezno. Follow this road for about 20 minutes, once cutting through the forest, as indicated by the signposts. At the next entrance to the forest, you will climb up to a larger signboard with the inscription Porezen 2h. Climb the wooden steps and continue through the forest. Slowly climb up the well-marked, winding path, which you can't miss. After a moderate climb, the forest will intersect and cross a small meadow, from which you will have your first views. At the end of the meadow, the path will turn into the woods for a short distance before passing fenced pastures and rounding a small hill on our left. Immediately afterwards, we will pass the old Pohoški kup barracks, after which we will have a view towards our home on Porezno and the top of Porezno. There is a short descent, at the end of which we join another path to Porezen, and then a short moderate climb to the house.
