From Tolmin, head towards Bovec. When you reach the village of Žaga, pay attention, as you will soon be able to turn left towards Učja. From here on, drive along the narrower road for a longer distance, passing both border crossings. On the Italian side we will reach the village of Učja, through which we pass the cemetery and continue along a narrow, ascending road, where we pay attention to the signs on the left side of the road, and just a few tens of metres ahead of them is a small parking area, where we park.

On foot, follow the road towards the signposts, which direct you to the right on an ascending forest path. After a short steep climb, you will come to an older house, which you pass on your right. The path leads across the meadow back into the forest. From here on, the path, which is partly sloping, partly ascending, keeps moving away from our Skutnik. In a short section we have to cross a precipitous part, which is not protected by a stile. After the precipice, the path continues through the forest for a few minutes, and then leaves the forest and turns into a meadow with a steep climb. At the end of the steep ascent, the path leads into the forest again and leads you gently to a crossroads marked with signposts. Turn right here and continue along the gentle track, which soon starts climbing up the ridge again, following another set of signs pointing straight ahead. On the ridge, we have wonderful views of the high mountains. We continue our journey along the left part of the ridge, past two small peaks, all the way to the penultimate peak of the ridge, which is our destination.
