If you are coming from Ljubljana on the motorway, take the exit for Nova Gorica and drive into the city. Continue driving towards Tolmin. Be careful when you reach Solkan. Drive through Solkan until you reach a large car park on your left, just before the famous Solkan Bridge. If you are driving from Tolmin towards Nova Gorica, in the village of Solkan, look out for a larger car park on your right, just after the famous Solkan Bridge.
Trail description:Park in the car park and continue on foot across the Solkanski Most bridge. Once across, you will see a signpost for Sabotin - north path, which will direct you left, down the stairs, onto the cycle path. Continue along the cycle path for some time until you see the sign for Sabotin on your left, on a larger rock. Here you turn into the forest and continue along the forest track, which climbs a little easier at first, but becomes steeper about halfway up. The path passes by old military bunkers, and we even pass through one of them. When we come out of the bunker, we will see a tavern on the Italian side of the path, and we continue along it, following the path that will soon lead us to our destination.
